Executive profiles
Jim McCarter
President
Jim is a 32 year veteran of the industry. Before the creation of Docuteam in 1997, Jim was the president of two different Atlanta branch offices of major conglomerates in the office machines industry. These were big, successful operations with a huge turnover, lots of employees and, of course, lots of customers. But in the 'Bigness" of it all, there seemed to be something missing... at least from Jim's perspective.
It is after having worked in this capacity for over 15 years that he came to realize - together with his partner, Ed Greco, who had worked as his Vice President of Sales through all this time - just how important independence is in keeping all of one's customers happy and productive. This is something that was nearly impossible to do in the context of a large corporate structure. DocuTeam was born from this desire for independence together with the entrepreneurial spirit that says... "We can get this right!"
Ed Greco
Vice President of Sales
Ed is co-founder of DocuTeam and the motor driving an extremely dedicated, high performance sales force. Under his leadership, this sales team has redefined the very meaning of success in the industry. Having started with just 4 employees and sales of $0, DocuTeam has grown, in just 8 short years, into a tremendous resource for the Atlanta business community. With over 120 employees and annual revenues of $30+ million, DocuTeam has done in a very short time what has traditionally taken 30 years or more for other companies of similar size to achieve... And Ed is proud of it!
Asked what the key to maintaining double-digit growth, year-in year-out, might be, Ed will tell you straight out: "It’s about putting the capital ‘T’ in DocuTeam. We work like we’ve all been playing together since Little League. My top priority from day one has been on recruiting nothing less than the best players in the industry, bar none ...and it has paid off in a big way. Whether it be in Sales or Service we have an All Star line up here at DocuTeam."
Steven Brown
CFO
Steven joined DocuTeam in April 1997 as Chief Financial Officer and part owner, and his tasks included answering the phones, preparing proposals, unloading trucks, inventory, leasing, billing and finally preparing the financial statements.
As DocuTeam has grown from 5 to over 120 employees Steven’s responsibilities have changed along with the growth. Today he is responsible for many parts of DocuTeam's business operations but the majority of his time is spent overseeing the administrative and warehousing functions which consist of about 25 employees and we are still growing. Steven came into the office equipment industry 15 years ago as a staff accountant, after spending 4 years working for a local CPA firm here in Atlanta. He is a graduate of Auburn University where he received his degree in Accounting.
Allan Rainwater
Service Director
When Jim McCarter and Ed Greco first conceived of their future enterprise they knew that to forge the perfect office equipment dealership they needed to start by creating the very best Service Department. For them, it was a no-brainer: Allan was DocuTeam’s first employee. With his 14 years of experience in the industry, he knew exactly what it would take to put DocuTeam on top, where service is concerned.
As Service Director Allan coordinates all aspects of Technical Services and Support, Customer Help-desk Support, Set-up, Customer Training, Field Service Support, IT Support and, most important, delivers on DocuTeam's performance guarantees. But even with all of this expertise he knows what world-class service is made of: "The bottom line is CARING. I have worked for several other companies in my career and not even one comes close to matching our care for the customer."
Paul Rupert
Director of Digital Services
Paul, who has been working in the industry for 25 years and heads up the Digital Services department, has a simple approach to his job, "I love working with customers in the field. It’s very gratifying to help a customer discover the processes and products that can improve their overall office workflow."
Having a degree in Electronic Engineering Paul worked for 4 years for the US Army as a guided missle computer technician before beginning his career with the 3M Corporation. Coming on board with Docuteam in 2002 he has made the company one of the national leaders in software/hardware integration and leads what he describes as the "dream team" of Digital Services. "I have the greatest group of digital consulting professionals ever gathered in the industry. Every person has his certain areas of expertise and we can confidently consult with our customers at any level. The broad level of skills can take us from hardware, to document management, through custom programming, to provide for our customers needs."
Sherry Conyers
Finance & Leasing Manager
Sherry, who has over 10 years experience in leasing, worked as a Portfolio manager at Citicorp before taking her position as DocuTeam's Finance and Lease Manager. She has been with the company for 4 years. Sherry oversees credit processing and the completion of all transactions.
She acts as the company's liaison to outside leasing sources, handles any issues customers might have concerning their lease contracts, and provides DocuTeam's sales representatives with the information necessary to manage their accounts and better serve their customers. Sherry enjoys the fast pace of her job. She also appreciates the fact that her job involves working alongside all the different people involved in all areas of the business; she works directly with the customers, virtually all the different departments at DocuTeam and with our leasing partners.
Todd Potter
Chief Officer of Operations
Todd, a Certified Public Accountant with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Georgia State University, has been in the industry for 10 years. Having started out as a Staff Accountant, he has been in the position of Controller for 6 of his 7 years with DocuTeam.
His duties include management of the administrative staff, maintenance of accounting and adminstrative software and, of course, oversight of all the companies financial activity. Todd’s personal approach to success are based on two basic principles: determination and work ethic. DocuTeam’s phenomenal growth has presented Todd and his staff with special challenges. "Our company is growing at an amazing rate and this means we always have to be vigilant about anticipating possible hang-ups in day-to-day operations. Some might call it ‘staying ahead of the curve’"
